Distinguished Professor/ A. Martin Berlin Chair in Mechanical Engineering

University of California Berkeley

Costas P. Grigoropoulos a Ph.D. (1986) in ME from Columbia University. He joined the faculty of the Deparment of Mechanical Engineering at the University of California at Berkeley in 1990, after serving as an Assistant Professor of ME at the University of Washington.

Dr. Andrew Wells

Program Director - Advanced Manufacturing

National Science Foundation

Dr. Andy Wells has been a Program Director in the National Science Foundation’s Advanced Manufacturing program since 2019, where he supports fundamental research to advance American manufacturing technologies.

Dr. Rayne Zheng

Associate Professor - Department of Material Science and Engineering

University of California Berkeley

Prof. Xiaoyu (Rayne) Zheng 's group at the University of California, Berkeley, draws principles from mechanics, optics and material science to develop the next generation of additive manufacturing (3D printing) processes, material design and synthesis approaches to create multi-functional materials and all-in-one devices with controlled 3D architectures, compositions and multi-scale features. Our research builds at the interface between machine and materials.
